6. MODULE 5: Automated task tree summarising
This module explores the topic summary capabilities of TPAssist.
TPAssist supports the ability to easily identify and manage your tasks based on due date proximity, priorities and flag.
After completing this module, you be able quickly summarise your activities.
STEP 1: Create map summary based on proximity
Let us start by building a summary based on when our tasks and activities will occur.
1) Open your My Summer Holiday map.
2) Browse into the "Getting on the Plane" sub topic and select the "Pickup tickets & vouchers" topic, right- click and choose "TPAssist Journal"
3) Uncheck "Level Topic's Dates", check the box next to Start and then click Ok.
4) Now, select "Pack the bags", right-click and choose "TPAssist Journal". 
5) Uncheck "Level Topic's Dates", check the box next to Start and then use the date picker to change the date to the next business day and then finally click Ok.
You should now have a task tree that looks something like the following:

Now let us build the summary tree.
6) Choose the central topic, in the export toolbar at the bottom of the window, choose the TPAssist icon, then choose the "Tree Update" tab, Now choose "All" in the scope. (In MindManager 7, just choose "Summary" from the TPAssist Ribbon Tab)
7) Now click "Summary", then click OK.

Your summary tree should now look something like the following.

Notice how each topic has a link.  These links take you directly to the topic for which the summary relates.
STEP 2: Create map summary based on priority
We will now explore summaries further by building a summary based on the task priorities.
1) Browse into the "Planning" sub topic and select the "Book Hire car" topic, right- click and choose "TPAssist Journal"
2) Change the Status to "Active" and then click Ok.
Your updated mind map should look something like:

3) Now choose the central topic, in the export toolbar at the bottom of the window, choose the TPAssist icon, then choose the "Tree Update" tab, Now choose "All" in the scope. (In MindManager 7, just choose "Summary" from the TPAssist Ribbon Tab)
4) Now click "Summary", ALSO change the Style to "Priority" and then click OK.
Your summary tree should now look something like the following.

Notice how each topic in the summary tree retains other task details, i.e. dates, percent complete and flags.
STEP 3: Create map summary based on priority
In this final illustration, we will build a summary based on the task flag.
1) Choose the central topic, in the export toolbar at the bottom of the window, choose the TPAssist icon, then choose the "Tree Update" tab, Now choose "All" in the scope. (In MindManager 7, just choose "Summary" from the TPAssist Ribbon Tab)
2) Now click "Summary", ALSO change the Style to "Flag" and then click OK.
Your summary tree should now look something like the following.

Notice how each topic in the summary tree contains a count of the number of items with the related flag.
STEP 4: Cleanup
To complete this module, let us now cleanup the summary tree.  The summary tree is just a series of map topics like any other topic, so you can simply deleted it.  However if you want change the formatting of the TASK SUMMARY topic for later use and reporting, simply use the "CLEANUP" summary action.
1) Choose the central topic, in the export toolbar at the bottom of the window, choose the TPAssist icon, then choose the "Tree Update" tab, Now choose "All" in the scope. (In MindManager 7, just choose "Summary" from the TPAssist Ribbon Tab)
2) Now click "Summary"
3) Change the Action to "CLEANUP".
4) Click OK.
